Aurum - Golden Fanfare

Aurum is music for a celebration for brass quintet.

 

Thinking about connecting gold with my piece, the first idea that came to my mind was the purity of this metal. I translated this to music using the pure sounds of the brass quintet avoiding the use of mutes or extending techniques. In this way I had the feeling that I was working with genuine sounds. As gold is the most malleable and ductile of all metals, I tried to evoke these physical characteristics in the counterpoint

of my piece.
