Programme Notes

Commissioned by the Dean and Chapter of Westminster, through the generosity of Justin & Lisa Simpson, for a service to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on 2 June 2003, at Westminster Abbey. This brief motet was composed to words chosen by the Queen for the service in Westminster Abbey to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of her coronation. They express humility and the respectful desire to serve. Text Remember, O Lord, what thou hast wrought in us and not what we deserve; and as thou hast called us to thy service, make us worthy of our calling; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
