'Scream Sing Whisper' is my second piece for ensemble, the other being 'Vaporised Tivoli' written for Ensemble Modern in 2010. 'Scream Sing Whisper', (c. 24 minutes) is made up of very different building blocks stretching from passages reminiscent of a weird, blaring carnival, sections with pure quarter tones, to extremely soft, ethereal textures, largely built upon spectral harmony. The piece is dedicated to Christian Karlsen. AH November 2015
