This work is based upon the final chorus of 'Child of Australia' (1987) for speaker, soprano, mixed chorus and orchestra, a setting of words by Thomas Keneally, written for Australia’s Bicentenary celebrations in 1988. The present arrangement was made especially for first performance at Gallipoli, Turkey, on April 25, 2007, on what is known in Australia as Anzac Day
