The Town Fox is, on the surface, a jaunty character who has fallen on his feet: comfortably esconced in a “one-up, two-down” rubbish dump at the bottom of a suburban garden, his food handed out by a little girl who treats him as a pet, along with her rabbit and cat. But he cannot forget the tragedy which forced him out of his natural habitat in the woods – the brutal deaths of his vixen and their cubs at the hands of the Terrier Man. Although the Fox himself escaped the huntsmen’s guns, and has found sanctuary, he still broods on revenge – one day the rabbit’s hutch will be left open…
