Frank Bridge was an English composer whose earlier works are in a Romantic style. He was Benjamin Britten’s teacher and had a major influence on the younger composer. This piece is from a set of ‘Miniature Pastorals’ composed in 1917, and has a dainty wit that requires a light but precise touch.
