This title appealed to Carl Vine not only as a suitable approach to honour the 60th birthday of the Dayton Philharmonic, who commissioned this joyous 5-minute work, but also, he writes ‘as a general philosophy of living one's life to the fullest’. A perfect concert opener, Celebrare Celeberrime also exists in a version for symphonic wind band arranged by Philip Littlemore.
