Missa Brevis in C K220 "Sparrow Mass" (Spatzenmesse) for SATB, Soli, SATB Chorus, and orchestra, full score (Latin). This Mass acquired its nickname some time during the 19th Century because of the accompanying figure of the violins in the Sanctus movement. Mozart komponierte seine Spatzenmesse aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach 1775. Auffallend ist der volkstümliche Charakter des Werkes, eine empfindsame Melodik und eine schlichte musikalische Struktur, so als habe der Komponist zeigen wollen, welche großartige Wirkung mit wenigen Mitteln zu erreichen sei.
