Written for the Huddersfield Choral Society in 1995 to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Sir Malcolm Sargent, David Matthews’ Vespers is based on four Latin texts interspersed with three poems by Rilke. This vocal score is arranged for a double mixed voices choir, Soprano, Mezzo Soprano and Tenor soli, and includes piano reduction.
