Whilst the authorship of this 15-minute cantata is contested – some believe that it is the work of Daniel Purcell – it remains an attractive and highly expressive work. Scored for baritone, 2 violins and continuo, this realisation follows the Purcell Society edition text, and features an imaginative keyboard part by Britten.
