Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904-1973) dedicated his Cien Sonetos de Amor to his wife, Matilde, and they remain among the world's most revered collections of love poems.  This mixed duet and piano setting of Ya eres mí (Sonnet 81) joins Morten Lauriden’s previous composition on a Neruda text, Soneto de la noche from his choral cycle Nocturnes.

Ya eres mía was premiered in the United States by Rod and Carin Gilfry and in Europe by Jeremy Huw Williams and Caryl Hughes.
