Marc's recent film work includes J. Blakeson's 2020 thriller I Care A Lot (starring Rosamind Pike, Peter Dinklage and Eiza González) which recently premiered at TIFF 2020, as well as the 2019 Netflix Original feature Close (starring Noomi Rapace), and his critically acclaimed score for cult thriller The Disappearance of Alice Creed, starring Gemma Arterton.
Marc's significant gaming credits include InFamous: Second Son, Far Cry 2, Driver: Parallel Lines, The Secret World, The Getaway, Split Second, Reservoir Dogs and Battlefield: Heroes.
Outside of film & TV, Marc has also worked with art and live installations, crafting the soundtrack for The Danger Tree exhibition which used augmented reality, poetry and music to bring to life the stories of soldiers who fought and fell between 1914 and 1918. This AR exhibition has been hosted in the Titanic Museum, Belfast as well as the National Army Museum.
Throughout his numerous scores and collaborations, Marc has delivered filmic landscapes built on elegant twists of musical genres, crafting a world where acoustic and ‘invented’ sounds co-exist. Canham manages to blur the boundaries between the two approaches of live recording and studio ‘magic’, making organic sounds feel otherworldly, and his electronic approach feel alive and human. His focus is not restricted to the notes on the page, but also captures the details between them, allowing musical spaces to complement the revolving structures that form the framework of his compositions.
He’s collaborated and teamed up with some of the most exciting musical talent around, with his compositions being remixed and re-interpreted by the likes of UNKLE, Amon Tobin and Diplo, while also working with artists and composers such as Nathan Johnson, Philip Glass, Iggy Pop and Baaba Maal.
